Nexon EV Range Test Sets A New Record In Butwal; Surpasses The Range Set In Kathmandu

With the goal of encouraging and promoting the use of electric vehicles in the country, Sipradi Trading, the sole authorized dealer of Tata Motors for Nepal, recently organized the second edition of the 'Nexon EV Range Test' challenge. This time the range test program was carried out in the Butwal-Bhairawaha area.

The test was basically completing the race with the least amount of energy conserved. And, the winner would be the one who had the lowest average battery watt-hour consumed for every kilometer (wh/km).

Subash Khadka, who managed to get an expected range of up to 397 km on the Butwal-Bhairawaha road with an average of 76 wh/km (watt-hour/km), grabbed the first position. Subash also surpassed the record of 347 km set by Salim Shrestha in Kathmandu.

Similarly, Gopal Sharma stood second with an expected range of up to 387 km while Subodh Bhattarai clinched the third position with 378 km. The winners were awarded attractive gift hampers like a Smart LED TV, microwave oven and air fryer, along with certificates and medals.

Commenting on the occasion, Shawant Jang Sijapati, Head of Passenger Vehicles at Tata Motors Nepal, informed that this kind of program was organized with the aim of spreading public awareness about the utility, effectiveness and positive impact of EVs on the economy and the environment.

The program was flagged off from Sipradi Trading in Pathardanda and covered Buddha Chowk, Devkota Chowk, and Gautam Buddha International Airport before concluding at Siddharth Cottage in Butwal.

More than 40 Nexon EV owners participated in the event. And as per Tata Motors, 22 participants were able to cover a range of more than 300 km.
